A recycled floating garden, a creative way to use our plastic waste

An awesome and eco-friendly initiative that incorporates everyone in communities is the Recycled Park Project located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This five-year improvement project aims to transform plastic waste into a cool floating garden. The project started with the installment of filtering machines to collect plastic waste found in the city’s main rivers before the waste went into the sea. The collected plastic was then transformed into hexagon-shaped blocks to make a floating green island at a size of roughly 140 square meters in the rivers. The floating gardens opened to the public in mid-2018, adding another recreational area for people in the community and additional green scenery on the river.
